  • I hate to ask but I have an nzxt aio where the pump is on the rad. Would this still cause problems if the rad is top up and below the head or doesn’t matter since the pump is on the rad?? Love the videos and thanks for any info!

  • I was trying to bring my old Nepton 240M back to life so I googled for the instruction manual(I lost mine and I'm not sure what screws I needed). I clicked on the first link Google gave me and lo and behold....it was a video of young and rather plump JayzTwoCents showing how to install a Nepton 240M.

  • Hello, I have a kraken X63 AIO kit with a NZXT 510 Elite case, at first I mounted the radiator at the front with tubes up, but I had this small liquid noise which is a bit annoying. After watching steve's video I decided to change the orientation and went with the tubes down (radiator still front, pump was lower than the top of the rad in both cases), but in the end nothing changes, I still hear the same water bubble sound as you explained in the video. So isn't there anything I can do to fix the noise ? (my rad won't fit at the top)

    Brandon JohnsonBrandon Johnsonپیش 4 روز
  • the difference between tubes up and tubes down is how far away the air bubble sits from the tubes as you said with tubes up that air can get sucked into the tube even if its not making it to your pump which eventually it will it is still limiting the amount of liquid is getting into that tube meaning your not getting as much fluid running across the cold plate meaning the pump will have to work harder to try and get more fluid to the cold plate to keep it as cold as ware if you have it mounted tubes down then the air pocket is no ware near the inlet to the pump meaning no air can get into the inlet meaning it will not be competing with the fluid for space in the inlet tub and their for the pump dose not need to work as hard to keep the fluid running across the cold plate

  • I have never used one of these. The design is not that much different than an automobile radiator and this problem is solved with a reservoir. For brakes they have a bleeder valve. For wine making, the have an airlock. If these are vacuum sealed at the factory, I would question a vacuum since that could easily create a gas; I can boil water at room temp in vacuum! Seems like a good design feature would be a bleeder valve and temporary reservoir( mason jar) with tube connected to an open valve and heat the radiator up. As it heats it would force the air out, as it cools it would suck fluid in( replacing the air). Once cooled, close the valve. A hand pump with a couple of check valves could do the same without heating it up. It would depend on the fluid and operating pressures.

I don’t care if it’s not the manufacturer specifications, I’d have the piping lower than the cpu so that in the inevitable eventual liquid leak it’d gravitationally vent itself away from the electronics. “But meh person did it this way noob”. At some point i need to test if it is still capable of cooling my 9900k even though my new 360mm aio from evga is working great it isn't like it is broken yet but my 9900k was overheating but unsure if it was a mounting issues me putting on my thermal paste terribly because I was rushing or something else at some point soon I have to test it to check since I got new mounting hardware for it.

  • my problem with mounting on the front or base of the case is that, one normally uses the front fans to pull cool air in, yet my put the radiator with those intake fans we are now heating up the air meant for cooling even before it gets to the other components, causing the internal fan on the GPU, MB ,SC, to circulate warm air instead of cool air, which negatively effect cooling, However by mounting the radiator at the top or rear of the case where warm air is normally exhausted the fans now push/pull the heat from the CPU straight out the case, this allowing for a much cooler circulation of air inside the case? PLEASE PLEASE correct me and if and where im going wrong.

  • As a mechanical engineer, the main reason you don't want those tubes to be higher than the pump is because the type of pump installed on those AIO coolers might not be designed to suck fluid from lower elevation which would cause air be present when the pump is running which would cause a phenomenon known as CAVITATION that causes pitting, which is the source of the noise you were talking about if there is air in your system, It can damage your pumps impeller and reduce its service life. Ideally we want our fluid source to be slightly higher than our pump to prevent cavitation.

The pump is below the highest point still since the tubing makes a u shape bend upwards before coming back down to enter the gpu block and pump area. The u bend in the tubing is the highest point. I assume the air gets stuck in the high point of the tubing. Is that okay given I have no other solution?
